About

Unlocking Doors is a co-authorship blog between myself, Shelley, and my husband James.  Last year, our youngest child was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.  Having a child with Autism is both a challenge and an adventure.  As you can see, we never know what each day will bring, but we look forward to sharing these little slices of our life to help spread Autism awareness.  We have come to realize that Autism is not the end of the world and that there are many positive things that can come from a diagnosis and hope that this blog will have meaning for everyone whether they are a part of the Autism community or not.

  1. hello there!
I cannot thank you enough for your kind words today. You went out of your way to try and help me, a complete stranger. I have been torn up by this “fiasco” that my blog has caused but your comments and kindness made me feel so wonderful. I was going to send this by email but couldn’t find your email address (if one was posted). Mine is discriminative.stimulus@gmail.com. You can feel free to email me anytime about anything you want. Good luck on your blogging adventure and know that you have truly made a difference for me! 🙂

  2. You are more than welcome. I felt so bad about the whole experience today. I hated to see a fellow blogger in that position, especially one who promotes awareness and support for all of us in the Autism community. You handled it with grace and poise and a hell of a lot better than I think I would have. I do hope this hasn’t tarnished your desire to blog. You were already making a difference here in my home.

    Our email address is unlockingdoors@gmail.com.
